There are artists who build works, and then there are artists like Fausto Roma who build worlds. His art explores art’s role in humanity’s evolution and alienation from nature, creating a universe of hybrid creatures, fossil memories, connecting East and West, visible and invisible.
There are artists who build works, and then there are artists, like Fausto Roma, who build worlds.
At the heart of his practice lies not only the search for form, but a broader question: what role can art play today, in the face of humanity’s unpredict- able evolution and its growing distance fromnature?
Roma’s universe is inhabited by hybrid creatures, fossil memories, earthly sediments, and marine traces. It speaks an ancestral language that does not strike with violence but with depth, suggesting rather than imposing, offering spaces of listening and openness. His works are not statements, but thresholds-places where memory encounters dream, where the smallest detail becomes the key to a larger thought.
Art here is not meant to explain but to connect. Not to narrate the world, but to let it emerge, slowly, like the earth after rain. In this fragile and powerful space, art becomes a bridge between East and West, between memory and imagination, between what is visible and what remains invisi- ble. And within it, perhaps, we may rediscover not only art, but also ourselves.
About Artist
Fausto Roma UUUL
Fausto Roma studied at an art high school; later, he became a student of the artist Augusto Lannocchi and pursued his stud- ies at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Frosinone (Frosinone Academy of Fine Arts). Amid the beautiful hills of Frusinat, Roma kept away from the mundane life of the petty bourgeoisie in small towns, resisted the noisy allure of big cities, and bravely and whole- heartedly forged his own unique lifestyle. This lifestyle was not only reflected in his choice of residence, but also extended into a coherent and autonomous ar- tistic creative path — one where he constantly explored in solitude and contemplation, while main- taining a profound connection with the art world.
